Fact of the Matter

You cannot get to where you want to go without change. Change is part of the process. No giddy-headed and silly thinking can accomplish the need for careful planning and hard work.

Covenant Church is on a path to a bold future. God has been doing a unifying work. The Holy Spirit is guiding us into preparation for endtime harvest. Yes, I believe the Coming of Jesus is soon. It is our best hope.

A special thanks to all of you who were present in worship yesterday. It was so good to be back together again! Two large congregations complemented additional services in Swahili, Hindi, Spanish, and Burmese. We are a blessed people.

VDOT may complete the five-lane bridge in front of Covenant in late 2011—hopefully. The huge housing/commercial development behind Covenant Church is building.

Our 7-acre property was once a farm. When the parkway is finished to the inner-city, Covenant will be the first commercial property coming off the by-pass. We are prime property — prime location — prime time.

What we must do:

1. Develop leaders: As Senior Pastor I will be leading a men’s mentoring group from 9-10 AM on 4th Saturdays from February thru October. This will happen immediately after Men’s Breakfast with the Pastor.

2. Discipleship classes are intensifying the maturing process for every believer.

3. Our facilities and parking area need a plan—and it is in process-- to meet the future.

Presently, we are in striking distance of completion of current renovations. The added conference room, prayer room, and youth area will be a great addition to ministry.

Faithful tithers have made possible a strong base and consistent commitment to world missions. Folks tithing on sale of homes, businesses, insurance pay-offs, inheritances, wills, and weekly pay-checks have been the backbone of financial strength. Thank you.

God has honored us because of our love for mission outreach, local and foreign. We are an evangelical body, which means we are ambitious to share the Good News of Jesus with everyone.

We are also a generous people. We choose to invest in the Kingdom of God. We love being a part of the work of the Lord. This is our time. Our season. We will sow. We will reap!

Our current sermon series on the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6) is insightfully drawing us closer to understand the holiness of God and His call to us to follow a Holy God. Fact of the matter is that we are having an exciting time serving Jesus!

Much love,

Pastor Bare
