Mission Report from Iran
We are in the last day of our meetings with church leaders from Iran. We have been blessed with testimonies from church leaders from China and Afganistan. I have been greatly humbled by our Iranian brothers.
They have been greatly humbled by the Chinese sister who has been laboring in persecution for 20 years and has established nearly 500 churches across the country in very dire circumstances. China is opening up and evangelism is much easier now but she lived for a decade under constant death threats. She lived trusting that as long as she lived in God's will, she will be secure. She was a tremendous encouragement to the Iranian church as it fights a similar enemy. The Chinese church is moved to reach out to the churches in the middle east. There are many missionaries who are now coming.
All were humbled by the Afganistan church. That is where every day today the church leadership is required to live in total dependence on God. The Iranian church, despite their persecution, are sending teams into Afganistan. Life is extremely dangerous even for the Iranians. Even they come out with a new awe of God's work. One American brother has been there for 8 years (with a family including 2 small children) living in the midst of the Taliban, Pastuns and al Queda. That takes grace in living a life completely in the hand of God.
I am getting a living vision of the early Christian church in Acts. We need to pray that America can catch this vision and awaken from its slumber.
Thank you for being such an encouragement.
